Discover Indiana is a complimentary application that provides access to Indiana's historical heritage. Developed collaboratively by the Public History Program at Indiana University Indianapolis, the National Council on Public History, the Indiana Department of Historic Preservation and Archaeology, and the Indiana Historical Society, this tool facilitates exploration of notable historic sites and self-guided walking tours. Users can discover significant individuals, locations, and events that have shaped Indiana’s history.

The app features an expanding collection of interpretive narratives, with each point on the GPS-enabled interactive map offering detailed historical context complemented by archival images and references from reputable publications. Certain sites also include audio or video components to enhance the educational experience.

Designed through a partnership among students, public historians, educators, and community organizations, Discover Indiana aims to make regional history accessible and engaging.
